The first 6 tracks are arranged. Tracks 7-24 are from the orginal Famicom RPG by Namco, and tracks 25-51 are the SFX from the game.
The name of the game contains a pun where the first character of kaijuu (monster) is changed to the character of shell or shellfish, thus giving Shell Monsters.
The composer, Haruyoshi Rokudo is the Bass/Keyboards /Piano player from an 80's band called Anzen Chitai.
