Retro Remix Revue was started by two young guys in Los Angeles; Davis Jones, a recording engineer and mixer, and Blaine McGurty, a keyboardist and arranger/composer. Working together in Davis?f studio, they created Retro Remix Revue as a project that revisits classic video game music from the late-80?fs to the mid-90?fs. Music from popular game companies such as Nintendo, Sega, and Capcom are revisited, and the music from major franchises such as Mario, Sonic, F-Zero, Donkey Kong Country, Mega Man, Zelda and many more, are played and interpreted by the industry?fs finest professional musicians. Retro Remix Revue covers many different stylistic genres, while maintaining a very polished and professional sound, which results in some of the most musically advanced adaptations of these tunes available. The project aims to bring high-quality musicianship and quality engineering to these amazing early game soundtracks while paying homage to the great composers that brought us this timeless music. All proceeds go towards the funding of future releases by Retro Remix Revue, so that they may continue to enlist the talents of the professional musicians involved with the project.
