Scored for a 30 piece "sweetening" orchestra, the music for Ultima IX Ascension was composed, orchestrated and conducted by George Oldziey. This compact disc was included free in the Ultima IX Ascension Dragon Edition (a collector's edition of the game). Of particular interest to long-time Ultima fans is Oldziey's wonderful "chamber" arrangement of the classic "Stones", originally written for the Ultima games by David (Iolo) Watson and Kathleen (Gweno) Jones. A commercially available edition of the soundtrack was also released (EAN 1463308870) featuring three additional tracks at the end: 22 "Stones (Electro)", 23 "Ambrosia" and 24 "Yew (Positive)". At the time of this writing, MP3 versions of some tracks were still available for download at www.ultima-ascension.com and at www.oldzieymusic.com (including a couple of tracks not found on either CD).
